Bread
Ingredients
5 pounds of flour
4 cups water warm not boiled
Pinch of salt
3 eggs for Christmas Loaf, or 4 to 5 for Easter Loaf
½ sticks of margarine soft
4 oz fresh yeast
Instructions
Proof yeast in 4 cups of water heated to between 95 and 115 degrees.
Pour flour in pan
Make a well and put in all ingredients
Mix all ingredients, kneading bread until large ball is formed
Make a cross on the dough and place in a large pan or pot to rise for ~2 hours in a warm area
Knead bread, return to same pan, and allow to rise again.
Butter bread baking pans
Remove dough, knead, roll into sizes that will fit into your buttered baking pans to rise ~1 hour
preheat oven to 400 degrees
Bake at 400 for 40-45 mins
Raise rack in lower oven do not over cook makes it hard
Cover bread with towels after removed from oven helps to keep it soft.
